Marco Suárez-Cifuentes

Marco Suárez-Cifuentes is a Colombian composer and researcher, professor at the Conservatory of Romainville,
who develops interdisciplinary projects integrating music, science, and technology. Trained at the Javeriana
University of Bogotá, the CNSMDP, Ircam, and the Royaumont Foundation, he develops his work within the
interactions between acoustic, instrumental, and electroacoustic spaces. Holding a Ph.D. in Arts and Creation
(SACRe-PSL), he pursued his research at ZKM – Hertz-Labor and, since 2020, at LadHyX at École Polytechnique, in
collaboration with Jean-Marc Chomaz as part of a postdoctoral program supported by the Arts and Sciences Chair.
Since 1996, he has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Le Balcon,
L’Itinéraire, and VorteX. Supported by institutions such as SACEM, Ircam, Radio France, and IDARTES, he has
produced major works with the agency Nova et Vetera, including Monologue pour une araignée mécanique (2016),
REVELO (2017-2025), and De Natura Communis (2024-2025).
His modular opera REVELO, inspired by the Apocalypse of Saint John and designed with the artist Nieto, has been
presented internationally. The full version, including the acts Aves and Voix Tonnerre, will be premiered by Le Balcon
under the direction of Maxime Pascal. Among his current projects are Vulgaris Fictio, a septet commissioned by the
French Ministry of Culture, and Five Black Rivers, an arts and sciences cycle in collaboration with Jean-Marc Chomaz.
